In The Service Of Others
One of the significant assemblies of the year was held on Wednesday to profile the cause of service, a spirit and an impulse that lies at the very heartland of Ignatian spirituality. It is one of the most distinguishing features of the educational program in Jesuit schools. Oscar Davies, Captain of the Regis campus spoke with poise and insight about the efforts made by the boys to raise funds for charities which are in desperate need to support all manner of causes.

Staying True
The theme of the Student Mass during the week was Staying True – something of a leitmotif in Jesuit education. It represents an amalgam of the spirit of Lent while embracing the practical implications of the student motto for 2018: Many Wolves, One Pack. Lent is a time to go inwards to develop the interior life; an opportunity to reflect deeply on those habits, foibles and frailties that hold us back from being who we need to be; of adopting attitudes and actions that promote generosity, inclusivity and service.

Up and Running!!
After the summer months of preparation and relaxation, the year is up and running: welcome to the 2018 school year and the rewards and challenges that lie ahead. We embark upon a new chapter of the unfolding history of this remarkable school as 260 boys take up their enrolment, the considerable proportion of whom enter Year 5 and Year 7. There will be a settling period as the boys begin to adjust to the cadence of a very fast moving school, as there will be for the 76 new boarders who take up residence at the College from different states and territories across Australia, as well as from some distant countries of the world.

A New Term…
Another term beckons, and with it the potential for so much growth and development of each and every boy in the College – academically, socially, emotionally, physically and of course, spiritually. Among other things, the term will see HSC Examinations, Year 11 students move into their HSC, the Year 9 Challenge, final preparations for immersions to India, Cambodia and Nepal over the summer, end of semester assessments and reports, the beginning of the summer sport program as well as Reflection Days across a number of year levels.
